High and Low Key Photography

Describe the studio & light set up for:  (backdrops/ lights needed and placement )

High Key requires a light background with minimal shadows and lots of light.Low Key darker tones, darker background and little lighting, black backdrop.

What is the difference in the outcome of these two styles?

High Key results in a predominately lighter tone in the image.

Low Key results in darker tones in a image.

Describe the outdoor lighting needs for:

High Key needs a lighter place with less shadows.

Low Key needs a somewhat darker place and maybe some back lighting.

 

Speedlight is a type of strobe light (flash) that can connect directly to your camera.

Fill Light is a supplementary light used to lighten shadows.

Diffuser is an attachment or duct for broadening an airflow and reducing its speed.

What is the narrative about?: I think its about the difficult life of elderly ones and all that they do and go through every day.

 

 

Describe the artwork and how it visually tells the story: It show pictures of the daily routine of a elderly woman. It shows what she does,what she sees and how she feels.

 

 

What element ties the images together?:Facial expressions and the look of the of the pictures help tie them together and understand what she is feeling. In some images they are bright with a more happier sense and others are darker and more sad.Its helps you to see all the difficulties of the end of life and see and experience all the hurt and weakness elderly ones feel.
